On the Roadmap — Not Yet Live

Retiring the telephone pole.

Paper fliers depend on the right person driving past the right pole before the rain washes it out. We're building an ad broadcast engine that puts your lost pet in front of the actual neighbors nearby — automatically, the moment their status changes.

This is where we're headed, not where we are today

Ad Broadcasts is part of the plan, built on top of the location data your pet's Smart Tag already captures. It is not a live feature yet, and we're not going to pretend otherwise on our own marketing page. What is live today: pet profiles, Smart Tags, and the finder scan and sighting-report flow. Automated geofenced ad deployment — and shelter cross-referencing — are next on our build list.

How it's designed to work

The whole point is to remove the owner from the ad-buying process entirely. No campaign manager, no budget, no targeting decisions — just a status change that sets everything else in motion.

STEP 1

A pet is marked lost

The owner flips their pet's status in the app. That single action is meant to be the only step they have to take — no ad accounts, no targeting menus, no budget to set.

STEP 2

The last-seen point becomes the center

The location captured by the pet's Smart Tag — wherever it was last scanned or reported — becomes the center of the search radius, replacing guesswork about where to even start looking.

STEP 3

A 1–5 mile geofence gets drawn

The plan is to size that 1–5 mile radius automatically and generate the creative — photo, description, contact path — without the owner touching a design tool.

STEP 4

The campaign runs on Meta and Nextdoor

Ads would deploy directly into the neighborhood feeds most likely to be scrolled by the people who could actually spot the pet — not a citywide broadcast, not a stapled flier hoping for rain to hold off.

Why we're building this instead of another flier template

A paper flier reaches whoever happens to walk or drive past that specific pole, on that specific day, before weather or a city crew takes it down. It has no idea who lives nearby, doesn't reach anyone once the ink fades, and puts the burden of printing, driving, and stapling entirely on an owner who is already in crisis.

The pole

Fixed location, one printed photo, reaches whoever happens to pass by, gone the first time it rains.

The plan

A geofenced radius around the last-seen point, live in the feeds of the actual neighbors nearby, deployed the moment the status changes.

It starts with the tag, not the ad

None of this works without a reliable last-seen location, and that's what our Smart Tags already exist to capture. Every scan and sighting logged there is the same data that would anchor the geofence once ad broadcasts go live — one more reason getting a tag on your pet now matters, independent of when this specific feature ships.

You can see everything that is live today, including Smart Tags and the finder scan flow, on our features overview — or read more about the team building this.

Get set up now, so you're ready when this ships.

Activating a free profile and Smart Tag today is what makes ad broadcasts useful the day they launch — there's no last-seen location to geofence without one.
